What does each VPS size cost per month in each of the six cities?
At the entry size, the median ran from $6.89 in London to $12.09 in Frankfurt; at 4 vCPU / 8 GB, from $41.00 in Los Angeles to $52.53 in London. In every cell a host counts once, through its lowest-priced plan that reaches the size, and the median is taken over those hosts. The second and third rows follow the sizes the VPS With Crypto Kilo and Mega plans are compared at, 3 GB and 5 GB of RAM, one GB above the plan below each.
To count, a plan had to pass every test on the host’s own pages: an IPv4 address included, monthly billing at a price that is not a first-term offer, stock shown, KVM or no virtualization named, at least 1 TB of traffic a month, a port of 100 Mbit/s or faster where one is given, crypto accepted for the VPS and no ID document at signup.

Which city is least expensive at each size?
New York, Dallas and Los Angeles tied for the least expensive plan at the three smaller sizes, and Amsterdam led at the two largest. One host explains most of the American lead: InterServer charges the same in its three cities.
- Entry size: InterServer sold 1 vCPU / 2 GB / 40 GB SSD for $3.00 in each US city. Europe started at $4.99 in Amsterdam (HostSailor).
- 1 vCPU / 3 GB / 40 GB: $6.00 in all three US cities, through InterServer’s Linux Cloud VPS 2 slices; in Los Angeles, Advin Servers asked the same. Frankfurt followed at $7.00 (Hosteons).
- 2 vCPU / 5 GB / 80 GB: InterServer again, at $9.00 in the three US cities, against $13.50 in Amsterdam (AliasVPS).
- 4 vCPU / 8 GB and 8 vCPU / 16 GB: VSYS Host in Amsterdam at $18.00, then AliasVPS at $27.50 for 8 vCPU / 24 GB / 400 GB. InterServer’s US list came next, at $21.00 and $45.00.
- Fewest hosts: London, with 11 comparable hosts against 22 in Amsterdam. Only 5 sold an 8 vCPU / 16 GB plan there.
- London and Frankfurt: neither held the first price at any size. At 8 vCPU / 16 GB their least expensive plans, $84.59 and $82.99, cost about three times Amsterdam’s.
How much monthly traffic do these plans include?
Traffic varies more than price. The first-ranked entry plan included 10 TB a month in London (Evolution Host) and 8 TB in Frankfurt (Senko Digital), against 1 TB in Amsterdam and 2 TB in Dallas. Evolution Host sells its Starter plan at one price in London and Dallas, with 10 TB in London and 1 TB in Dallas.
Some plans state no monthly quota and write a port speed instead: Bit.Hosting’s entry plans run on 125 to 150 Mbit/s, AliasVPS’s larger plans on 2.5 to 5 Gbit/s, OVHcloud’s smallest plan on 500 Mbit/s. In those cases the port is the real cap, so the index shows it next to the price. VPS With Crypto plans state a quota, from 2 TB to 12 TB a month. Plans connect through a 1 Gbit/s port that the VPS on the same host share.
What do Vultr, DigitalOcean, Linode, Hetzner and OVHcloud charge?
The mainstream clouds start at $5.00 a month for 1 vCPU / 1 GB (Vultr, Akamai Linode) and charge $20.00 to $24.00 for 2 vCPU / 4 GB / 80 GB. They take no part in the medians. Linode, Hetzner and OVHcloud take no crypto, DigitalOcean calls its stablecoin option limited, and Vultr’s billing FAQ asks for a card or PayPal to register.
Hetzner Cloud has no data centre in the six cities: its Nuremberg prices are shown for comparison. OVHcloud’s Frankfurt data centre is in Limburg an der Lahn, and its New York, Dallas, Los Angeles and Amsterdam offers are Local Zones that sell only its two smallest plans.

OVHcloud London: $5.23 for its smallest plan.
How do VPS With Crypto’s own prices compare with the index?
Because VPS With Crypto both publishes the index and sells VPS in these cities, its plans are listed apart and never enter a median. A plan costs the same in New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, London, Amsterdam and Frankfurt. Each price was set against a named plan on sale in one of the six cities on 3 November 2026: Los Angeles for Byte, Kilo and Mega, Amsterdam for Giga and Tera.
We do not claim to be the cheapest, and month to month Byte is not: it costs $3.21, more than the $3.00 of Linux Cloud VPS 1 slice at InterServer, the named plan it is priced against. On a 12-month term it costs $2.25 a month, 25% less than that plan.

How was the VPS Price Index built?
One day of reading, 3 November 2026, on public pages only: no account was opened, nothing was ordered or paid.
- Coverage: 61 hosts and 5 mainstream clouds, 1,694 price rows.
- Pool: 47 hosts take crypto for a VPS and ask for no ID document at signup, with the evidence quoted for each. 34 had a comparable plan in at least one of the six cities: InterServer, Hosteons, VirMach, Evoxt, Advin Servers, HostHatch, Ultahost, is*hosting, HostSailor, ExtraVM, GreenCloudVPS, MonoVM, HostDare, 1Gbits, OperaVPS, RackNerd, NoctHost, VPSDime, Hostwinds, Evolution Host, Cloudzy, Spartan Host, MivoCloud, RDP.monster, Zomro, Servury, KernelHost, Bit.Hosting, VSYS Host, Servers.Guru, AliasVPS, FlokiNET, Senko Digital, PrivateAlps.
- Where the evidence sits: for most hosts, on a payment page or in the terms. For three, elsewhere on their own sites: InterServer names Coinbase as its crypto processor in its privacy policy and lists no coins, HostHatch’s order panel carries a BitPay setting, and MivoCloud shows a “Pay with Bitcoin” icon. When a plan table leaves the IPv4 address out, it is read from the host’s other pages and noted as such: Advin Servers documents a primary IPv4 per server, Evoxt’s IP guide describes the address that comes with each server, and VirMach prices additional IPv4 addresses on top of its plans. All of them count like any other host.
- Cities: data centres of the metro area count: Secaucus, Piscataway and Newark for New York, Richardson for Dallas, El Segundo and Burbank for Los Angeles, Schiphol-Oude Meer and Haarlem for Amsterdam. Buffalo, Ashburn and Nuremberg do not.
- Sizes: five minimums of vCPU / RAM / disk, from 1 vCPU / 1 GB / 20 GB to 8 vCPU / 16 GB / 320 GB, each matching the VPS With Crypto plan it is set for.
- Currency: USD; 1 EUR = 1.1216 USD (ECB reference rate of 2026-11-02).
Quick answers on US and European VPS prices
How much does a basic VPS cost per month in 2026?
On 3 November 2026, the median VPS of at least 1 vCPU / 1 GB / 20 GB from a crypto host with no ID check ranged from $6.89 a month in London to $12.09 in Frankfurt. Vultr and Linode charge $5.00 and DigitalOcean $6.00 for a 1 GB plan.
Is a VPS less expensive in Europe or in the United States?
It depends on the size. Up to 2 vCPU / 5 GB / 80 GB, the first price was American: $3.00 at the entry size in New York, Dallas and Los Angeles alike, against $4.99 in Amsterdam. At 4 vCPU / 8 GB and 8 vCPU / 16 GB, Amsterdam came first, at $18.00 and $27.50.
Why do Vultr, DigitalOcean and Linode stay out of the medians?
Because the medians only count hosts selling a VPS for crypto with no ID document at signup. Linode has no crypto option, DigitalOcean calls its stablecoin payments limited, and Vultr’s billing FAQ wants a card or PayPal on file to register. Their prices sit in a reference table from the same day.
When will the index be read again?
No date is fixed. This edition is dated 3 November 2026, and every table repeats that date. Prices, stock and promotions keep moving, so use any figure as a snapshot of that day rather than a quote.
Are VPS With Crypto’s prices part of the medians?
They are not. VPS With Crypto lists its plans in a table of their own, outside every median, at one price per plan in all six cities: $2.25 to $20.62 a month on a 12-month term.
Do the prices include tax?
The five mainstream clouds publish prices before tax. Other hosts were recorded exactly as their order pages show them, usually before tax; Evolution Host includes VAT where it applies.
